Before moving to Japan, I really struggled with my weight and wound up losing 40 pounds after learning about Japanese holistic nutrition.
I became a health coach to educate people on the different health mentalities in Japan that helped me create a body I love and internal peace about my body image.
My clients are yo-yo dieters who are looking for guidance on how to achieve their health goals within the context of living in Japan.
When you work with me, I will:
Educate you on how Japanese people think differently about health compared to Westerners and how these mentalities keep them healthy and slim
Show you how to shop for healthy food products (that may be unfamiliar to you)
Connect you with local restaurants, health tools, and resources
Cover topics ranging from food to body care to routines, and
Meet with you once every other week to provide space for you to set goals and have someone to hold you accountable.
By the end of our time together, you will have learned an entirely new way of thinking about your health, have successes with different health techniques, and gain a newfound appreciation for food and your body.

Klinta lost 22lbs in 6 months. Here are her words:
During a regular doctor visit in Belgium just before heading to Japan, my doctor recommended that I watch my weight. I was already spending time in the Pilates studio and trying to eat healthier, so the recommendation made the gear wheels in my head spin.
What was I doing wrong?
As the trip to Japan was coming up, the timing to change things couldn’t have been better – new place, new culture, new experience. I researched for someone to help me on this journey and after reading the great feedback about Katheryn, I decided to contact her and there was a click from the first Skype call – I knew this would be great!
I didn't have a lot of expectations or plans other than to see what the experience would bring and to work on some healthier food choices. To be honest, I was skeptical about making great changes in Japan compared to living back in Belgium.
But, you never know.
And I was pleasantly surprised - Katheryn and the experience of being in Japan taught me that health is not only food and exercise. It is much more. I like to call it a mindset.
It is about learning to listen to my body, do the things which I feel are needed and stop doing things that do not feel right, relax, and learn to integrate my personal care at an off work. To move with the flow. Move forward and not look backwards.
(And of course, enjoy Japanese onsen and a good bath every other evening with a good book!)
What did I take with me from Japan? My better self and the Japanese mindset of looking forward. Now, since being back in Belgium for a couple of weeks, my colleagues, friends and family have noticed changes - and not just in my clothing size but also in my attitude and mindset.
And all that just after 6 months. I could not thank Katheryn more for being there for me and guiding me through this process towards my better self.
Never be afraid of a new adventure and don’t be afraid to try new things!
